The Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society Inc was formed in 1987 and is comprised of people interested in understanding woodcraft and developing skills in its many and diverse forms.
The aims of the Society are to:
- Foster an understanding and appreciation of woodcraft
- Provide mutual advice, help and a problem sharing forum
- Collaborate with other craft groups in the Shoalhaven
- Involve the families of “woodies” in social activities
We conduct General Meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6.30 pm at the Makers Cottage which is located within the Nowra Showground, West St. At these meetings we run through the general business and matters pertaining to the running of the club. There is also a show & tell where members display their current projects and talk through their coming about, along with an informative guest speaker on a topic of interest to the club.
We also meet Tuesday nights, as well as Thursdays at the same location, which is just inside the Memorial gates of the Nowra Showground. Tuesday night workshops run from 6pm until 9pm, and Thursdays from 9am until 12pm. There are hands on projects that all skill levels are invited to make. Inexperienced? That’s great, we welcome new members, and of course those with skills they would like to share.
Stay tuned for dates for the upcoming year. Would you like to see more? Look for us on Facebook under ‘Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society’ for social updates and pictures of members crafted pieces.
We hope to meet you soon!
